Conventionally, movement analysis has been done with cameras, and without touching the person involved. The study subject can move freely without worrying about technical devices and connectors. Concentration can therefore be focused solely on the movement being performed.

Kine has brought this concept to electromyography (EMG) by developing a small unit that integrates everything needed, and can be put on the skin above the muscle of interest with minimal preparation. Just snap the electrode to the unit and put it on the skin above the muscle or muscles under observation. From then on you can follow the muscles' activity on your computer monitor or screen, and compare it with other muscles and motion pictures or images of the movement.

Complicated exercises like pole vaulting, ski jumping, gymnastics etc., can be analysed just like sprinting, golfing, or movement in a wheelchair or at the workplace, all in the same or similar manner. Even swimming has been studied because the unit can store the result and transmit it later. And you do not have to be in the lab. It is done quickly and easily in the field.

Up to twelve muscles (some go even as far as 16) or muscle groups can be observed simultaneously, synchronized with each other and the movement images. Movement and muscle activity analysis is a matter of a few clicks on the computer. If the connection to the analysing computer is interrupted the unit will transmit the EMG later. Movement and muscle analysis has never been so easy and possible in as many different situations. And all that with less preparation than ever before.

The Kine EMG unit can be operated with up to 16 channels. It is 'don- and doffed' with self adhesive electrodes - no wires! It contains a microprocessor, EMG memory and a transmitter that can all be controlled from a computer. The same computer can take in the moving pictures from a video camera and thereby gain even further analysis possibilities.

Obtaining high quality physiological information is a speciality of Kine.
